Live Color Grading

The DP's vision is paramount, and the ability to adjust settings on the fly is crucial to accomplishing that vision. The look can be approved by the DP and sent straight to the post team, giving post a head start and giving the DP peace of mind that his ideas are being communicated effectively.

Exposure Monitoring

It can be difficult to ensure proper exposure in certain environments. Using the Leader 5330 hardware scope, IRE levels can be set well within range, allowing the DP to focus on story and composition.

Data Management

Data from the camera is copied from the original camera media (RedMag, SxS card, CFast 2.0 Card, CF card, SD card, hard drive, SSD drive, etc.) to hard drives. Multiple copies may be made at the same time, typically a primary and a back-up is recommended, however if you prefer more or less that is possible. All data is copied and backed up using data management software that performs checksums to confirm the copies are exactly as the original, bite for bite.

Transcoding / Digital Dailies

Most cameras shoot in a format that is not "edit friendly", thus slowing down the post-production process. Transcoding (or converting) to a format more fitting to an offline edit can save a lot of time and allow post-production to begin much faster. Shots can also be transcoded for the specific purpose of being viewed as digital dailies. Whichever file format is desired, the best workflow for your production can be determined and media and files delivered accordingly.

Audio Syncing

Syncing sound to picture before creating transcodes is a great way to speed up the editorial process, and assistant editors everywhere will thank you! This can be done on set, or overnight.
